SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES FOR
CORDLESS METAL SHEAR
1. Use battery only with charger listed.
Battery pack Charger
252-8016
252-8016(1.5Ah)
252-8020
2. Hold power tools by their insulated
gripping surfaces when performing an
operation where the cutting tool may
contact hidden wiring. Contact with a “live”
wire will make exposed metal parts of the
tool “live” and shock the operator.
3. Always wear safety goggles or eye
protection, leather gloves and safety shoes
when using this tool. Shears produce sharp
metal strips or edges that, if contacted, can
easily lacerate skin.
4. Wear ear protectors when using the
tool for extended periods. Prolonged
exposure to high intensity noise can cause
hearing loss.
5. Use thick cushioned gloves and limit
the exposure time by taking frequent
rest periods. Vibration caused by the
shearing action may be harmful to your
hands and arms.
6. Do not run the tool while carrying it
at your side. The cutters could become
entangled with clothing and injury may result.
7. Always use the supplied hand guard.
The guard helps keep the sharp metal strips
or pieces away from contacting your hand.
8. Secure the material being cut. Never
hold a small piece in your hand or across your
legs. Do not touch cutters, reach below the
work or remove cut material during use of the
shear. Shears that cut metal will cut skin easily.
9. Do not cut material greater than
the rated capacity of the shear. Cutting
material greater than the capacity of the
shear may cause damage to the cutting
edges of the shear.
10. Do not use dull or damaged cutters
or accessories not intended for this
shear. Replace worn cutters. Sharp cutters
minimize stalling.
11. Save these instructions. Refer to them
frequently and use them to instruct others
who may use this tool. If you lend this tool to
someone else, also lend these instructions
to them to prevent misuse of the product
and possible injury.
12. This tool is not suitable for stationary
operation. Do not clamp it in a vice or fasten
it to a worktable.
13. Do not use the tool without the hand
guard properly mounted. Take care that
the hand guard is not damaged or bent.
Injury could occur when working without
or using a damaged hand guard. Have a
damaged hand guard replaced immediately
by an qualified service technician.
14. Wear protective gloves while working.
Take care that cut sheet parts do not bend
toward your body. Sharp burrs develop
from the cut metal sheet and can cause
injuries to the operator. If required, press
bending steel sheet parts away from your
body using gloves.
